CIT form with over 31 thousand transactions filed in half a day
In June 2021, ALTO technology team was asked to support our Client with the preparation of CIT/WZ attachments to CIT declaration of two related companies in the marketing industry. Due to the hassle of data preparation, the information to be reported was submitted to ALTO several hours before the deadline for submission to the tax administration.
Both client companies had a total of 31,768 transactions to report, potentially reducing the tax base by PLN 7,638,226 (and consequently reducing the tax liability by PLN 1,451,263).
To complete the task, ALTO reviewed the data and then used pre-prepared scripts to process the tax data. These scripts converted the data from Excel spreadsheet form to XML structures and then, after automated testing, attached the data to pre-filled CIT returns.
This project required not only tax and programming knowledge, but also proper planning of computing resources. After supplementing the CIT-8 form with huge amounts of transactions in the CIT/WZ attachment, the PDF files containing these returns became very large – the smaller one had 1,976 pages, while the longer one had almost 3,400. Each time a sheet of this size was opened it took more than a quarter of an hour. To streamline the process, ALTO relied on, among others, cloud-based tools.
CIT declarations, with all debtors reported, were submitted to tax authorities on time.
